George Clooney is the reason I'm blogging...

I mean, what better reason does a girl need?

Kristin has been trying forever to get me to blog about the randomness that is my life, but I've hesitated.

Until today. The day after I got to see George Clooney in person.

Mr. Wonderful was in Maysville, Ky., last night to premier his movie Leatherheads at a the Maysville Opera House near his hometown of Augusta, Ky. George's aunt, Rosemary Clooney, premiered a movie at the same theatre in the 1950s.

The premiere was complete with a red carpet and tons of fans lined up to get a glimpse of George. (Well, Renee Zellweger was there, too, but there's the whole Kenny Chesney thing that I'm still holding a grudge about, so that didn't matter.)

I lucked out and ran into a small group of folks who were waiting for Mr. Clooney to come out of his hotel and make his way to the red carpet. Since there were TONS of folks already on the red carpet, I figured I'd wait for him there and try to get a glimpse.

Obviously, I got more than a glimpse.

All 5'11" of his glory walked out of the hotel and directly to those of us waiting (a crowd that had grown by this time). He stood there for what seemed like forever signing autographs and smiling at folks. He was SO kind and down-to-earth...it was amazing.

He was obviously enjoying himself.

It's always great, I believe, to meet someone you admire who is famous and to realize when you meet them that they are just a person like you. Not arrogant and stuck up. But just a hometown boy like George Clooney.

I'm an even bigger fan today than I was yesterday. If that's possible.
